Vincentian Congregation is a clerical society of Pontifical Rights in the Syro-Malabar Church, with its Generalate at Edappally in the Archdiocese of Ernakulam-Angamaly. It was founded on 20 November 1904 at Thottakom by Fr. Varkey Kattarath, the then Vicar of Vaikom, with three diocesan priests with the approval of Mar Louis Pazheparambil, the first Vicar Apostolic of Ernakulam. They based their lives on the Common Rules given by St. Vincent de Paul to the members of the Congregation of the Mission.
De Paul Institute of Religion and Philosophy is a centre for religious and priestly formation, run by the Vincentian Congregation. It aims at the human , intellectual, spiritual and pastoral formation of seminarians.
